Bài Viết của Học Sinh Cấp 3 - IELTS Writing Task 2

Psychologists have known for many years that color can affect how people feel. For this reason, attention should be given to color schemes when decorating places such as offices and hospitals. How true is this statement? How far does color influence people's health and capacity for work?

It is undeniable that colors significantly affect emotions, health, and work efficiency. Psychological research has long demonstrated that color schemes influence human mood and productivity, making color selections in environments such as hospitals and workplaces crucial. While some shades promote relaxation, others may contribute to stress or distraction. Therefore, a thorough selection of color schemes in hospitals or workplaces is essential for enhancing mental well-being and productivity.

Color plays a crucial role in shaping mental well-being. Dark or overly intense hues, such as deep red or black, can evoke anxiety and discomfort, whereas soft pastel tones bring relaxation. A study by Minnesota State University reported that 83.3% of participants in pastel blue rooms experienced lower anxiety levels compared to those in darker settings. Consequently, hospitals commonly use light colors to foster a soothing atmosphere for patients and medical staff, aiding recovery and stress management.

In addition to mental well-being, color schemes also shape workplace efficiency and productivity. Employees often prefer light, neutral tones for a calm and focused environment. Many offices incorporate soft shades like beige or white to enhance concentration, while specific colors such as blue and green directly improve efficiency. Research suggests that blue and green are widely used in offices to enhance focus, while yellow stimulates creativity and collaboration. As a result, businesses carefully design their color schemes to maximize efficiency and employee well-being.

In conclusion, color selection plays an important role in both health and work performance. Thoughtfully chosen colors in hospitals can reduce stress and accelerate recovery while enhancing focus and efficiency in workplaces. Therefore, careful consideration of color schemes is necessary in designing environments that support well-being and productivity.
