Topic: CLOTHES
· What types of clothes do you like wearing?
- Well, I absolutely adore casual clothes either for work or just hanging out. I think a pair of jeans and shirt will look nice on any occasion. I’m not really a fashionable person so I just like to keep it simple when it comes to clothes
- Personally, I have a particular liking towards casual clothes, especially just a simple combination of white T-shirt and jeans. Other than that, at work I want to look professional so formal clothes like suit and tie works best for me.
- There are various types of clothes that I like to wear, but I think it depends on the occasion. At work, it’s necessary that I wear formal clothes, so I usually pair a blazer with any shirt to look polite but still comfortable. When I go out with friends leisurely, I just wear casual clothes like T-shirt and jeans.
· Where do you usually buy your clothes?
- Well I think it depends on my demand. I usually go to big shopping centres or department to choose clothes because it’s more convenient as I can find everything I need there. I also go to flea markets with my friends to buy clothes as you can buy loads of stuffs for a great deal and they also offer many discounts.
- I like to purchase my clothes from local stores mainly because it’s more affordable than those trendy brands’ store. My favorite local store near my house always have fashionable items for me to choose from and those are really unique, you can’t find them anywhere else.
· Did you wear a school uniform when you were younger?
- Yes, absolutely. It is a norm that student wear uniform in Vietnam. It’s usually a buttoned-up white shirt with different bottoms depends on the school. At my high school, everyone has to wear long navy pants, but in some schools, girls have to wear a long skirt.
- Yes, I believe it’s mandatory that children wear uniform where I live. Every school has different styles and logo on the uniform so it’s easy to recognize students from that particular school. I personally like wearing uniform since I don’t have to worry about what to wear everyday.
· What can we learn about a person from the clothes that they wear?
- Most people say we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover but I think we can learn a lot from how a person dress. For example, if a person wears wrinkled clothes and doesn’t care about their look, I am more likely to think that they have an untidy lifestyle. However, there are people who dress up and wear designers’ clothes all the time just to show off and flaunt, especially teenagers.
- In my opinion, clothes can definitely reflect a person’s characteristics and personalities. I think if you are a cheerful person, you will tend to pick colorful or light-colored clothes. Dark colored clothes can suggest that whoever wearing it is typically calm and mature.
- Well, I think a person’s outfit can say a lot about who they are. It can help identify one’s character and lifestyle, or even jobs and profession. I mean, you can differentiate between an office worker and someone who does hard labor just based on what they wear. Also, outfits can tell one’s nationality, if you see I’m wearing Ao Dai, there’s a high chance that I’m a Vietnamese.
